Dave Lieber, whose Summer Santa charity helped him win the 2002 Will Rogers Humanitarian Award, reports the organization recently raised $5,000 at a pancake breakfast.

Summerall, a former football player and TV announcer who lives in Southlake, Tex., is associated with a proposed reality series called Pat Summerall’s Sports Angels. It would bring sports celebrities into communities to help volunteers improve facilities for young athletes.
Summer Santa, which provides scholarships for low-income children to attend summer camp, recommended Sotogrande Park in Euless, Tex., for inclusion in the series.
