Rick Horowitz, long-time NSNC member, announced that he is ending his twice-weekly syndicated column at the end of the year. Rick plans to devote his extensive energies to a new business venture called Prime Prose, LLC. His new enterprise will pull together an expanding assortment of the writing, editing, teaching and training services that he has been providing to educational and journalistic organizations in recent years.
Horowitz’s syndicated column is a mix of political satire and offbeat social comentary. He has received two Emmy awards for his TV commentary for Milwaukee Public Television in Wisconsin, and has received two prestigious National Headliner Awards. Rick has earned a number of awards for his column-writing from the NSNC and is a favorite participant at our annual conferences. He is a graduate of NYU Law School and worked as a lawyer in a Washington law firm and as a legislative assistant on Capitol Hill prior to his writing career.
A number of Rick’s video columns are posted on this website as well as on YouTube and at his new website www.huffingtonpost.com/rick-horowitz. For a taste of his talent, check out this hilarious 2010 Christmas musical video. Rick said he will not quit column writing entirely. “I’ll still be sharing my own thoughts, under my own byline, in various outlets from time to time. Hey, I’ve been writing columns most of my life — I can’t imagine ever kicking the habit completely! Which means I’ll still be part of this warm and friendly NSNC gang, and even of NSNC conventions…”
