Breaking News – Tommy Tomlinson added to conference agenda
A new name has been added to the list of guest speakers at the Macon Conference. Tommy Tomlinson, popular columnist of The Charlotte Observer, has accepted an invitation to lead one of our seminars .
Tommy has a Georgia connection since he studied journalism at the University of Georgia and later returned to spend a week on UGA campus speaking to classes, consulting at the campus newspaper and giving lectures at the journalism school.
In his LinkedIn bio, Tomlinson says, “I’m a word guy. I’ve written for the Charlotte Observer for 20 years, have done freelance work for magazines and books, have taught writing to students of all ages, and have talked about writing to dozens of different groups.”
Among his numerous honors is a year at Harvard University as a Nieman Journalism Fellow. He was a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize in commentary in 2005, and has taught at the Poynter Institute, the Nieman Narrative Conference and at national writers’ conferences across the country.
Tomlinson is a not-to-be missed addition to our growing list of conference speakers.
