There’s a new candidate on the slate of officers proposed for election at the annual membership meeting on Sunday, May 6 in the closing session of the 2012 Conference in Macon, Ga. It’s none other than the outgoing president, Ben Pollock. When Tracy Beckerman withdrew as a nominee for the Web Editor position for personal reasons, Pollock offered to fill in. He already was set to stay on the Board of Directors as Immediate Past President.
The board voted to amend the bylaws to permit also holding an elective office – but with only one vote. The bylaws also were revised to change the title of the office of Web Editor to Director of Online Media, with the responsibility for “operating and maintaining the website of the Society on a timely basis and for overseeing the Society’s other online resources.”
The Director also “will advise the board on Internet developments and assist board members in online communications and marketing.” Other candidates, recommended earlier by a nominating committee, are: President, Larry Cohen; Vice President, Eric Heyl; Newsletter Editor, Robert Haught; Education Chair – Joel Brinkley.
