Leuty, 44, was raised on a dairy farm near Bakersfield, CA by parents Eric and Bette Rogers Brandin. His grandfather, California rancher Jim Rogers, was the last surviving offspring of Will and Betty Rogers.
“The respect and admiration people have for my great-grandfather is amazing,” he said.
Leuty, who works in the high tech industry of semi-conductor manufacturing, lives in the northern California town of Roseville with his wife Ronda and sons Nathan and Reece.
He is the third Rogers descendant to represent the family at the presentation of the annual Will Rogers Humanitarian Award, following his uncle, Kem, and his cousin, James.
