Columnists and bloggers living or visiting in the District of Columbia area might be interested in knowing the biographical play Erma Bombeck: At Wit’s End will be running this fall at Washington’s Arena Stage.
The drama is part of the season’s Women’s Voices Theater Festival and runs Oct. 9 through Nov. 8, 2015.
The Arena Stage’s website has a general information page and a ticket purchase page for the show.
Twins Allison Engel and Margaret Engel wrote this “new look at one of our country’s most beloved voices” who “dispensed wit and wisdom for more than 30 years as the most widely syndicated humor columnist in America.” It is directed by David Esbjornson.
The Engels also have written Red Hot Patriot: The Kick-Ass Wit of Molly Ivins. Both writers are former reporters at several newspapers.
Playing Bombeck is Barbara Chisholm, who previously starred in the Ivins play in an Austin, Texas, production.
