National Society of Newspaper Columnists Announces Elected Officers

The National Society of Newspaper Columnists (NSNC) recently elected its Board of Directors. Members voted on the positions via an online ballot.

The NSNC Board of Directors is pleased to present the following officers:

President: Meredith Cummings

Immediate Past President: Lori B. Duff

Vice President: Adam Earnheardt

Secretary: Telly Halkias

Treasurer: Suzette Standring

At-Large: Tony Norman

Historian/Archivist: Mike Leonard

Contest Director: Joanne Brokaw  

Additionally, Chris Carosa, a past NSNC president, will continue in an At-Large role.

New and continuing board officers have assumed their roles, which were announced at the October 9 board of directors meeting. Following an exhaustive search and canvassing by the NSNC Nominating Committee, the 2024-2025 election slate was sent to members in August and the voting closed mid-September.

Meredith Cummings, NSNC’s newly elected president, is an award-winning freelance multimedia journalist. She is a longtime columnist for various outlets across the country and writes book reviews for the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. Cummings is a Teaching Assistant Professor of Journalism at Lehigh University. She previously served as the vice president of the organization for the past two years.
